The life I was suppose to have.
I've been contemplating the big "what if" in the back of my mind lately. Its been so long since I've actually had the thought of doing fashion again. I've been side tracked for over 10 years, doing "other creative things" and without much dedication to the job.
I went to FIDM to study Fashion in 1992 and graduated in 1994. In 1995, I created a small line of children's clothing and by 1996, I got distracted by my ideas of getting a regular pay check every two weeks. So the fashion career was put in a box hidden away, every so often the "seamstress" would have to come out and make a costume here and there or I would have to sew something.
Fast forward to 2009 and the sewing machine is on a shelf covered by a dish towel , my fabrics and stuff are all over the place and the worst thing of all... I was using an office stapler to hem up my pants. This makes for a great story line on TLC's Intervention. I've traded my designer clothes for a bunch of faded comfortable clothing, and a pair of Tom shoes, which really are cute but when its the only thing you now wear, its probably a safe bet that they should be thrown into the garbage by Stacy and Clinton.
Its a gamble to start a line of clothing but I really need to know if it was meant to be. I have always wondered if "I were really talented"? Could I come up with something great that will be relevant to the world of fashion and life?
We will see.. G/D
