Reality versus Facebook.

Yes, we are all victims of the social networking virus. We write cute anecdotal quotes that most likely will be viewed by some as wonderful words of wisdom or by someone like myself, as some passive aggressive rhetoric jab at somebody. I've spent countless times looking at other people's profiles scanning for info to clue me on in some brewing drama.

We all look over everyone's pictures, and I am a victim of camera angles and Photoshop. In this day and age of technology nothing can't be fixed with the click of a mouse. It is interesting when someone post profile pictures of objects, sunsets, pets. What exactly are they saying? I've had an online profile and existence long enough to know that these people fit into the following:

1. These people lack confidence even in the alternative reality of cyberspace.

2. These people are not who they say they are.

3. These people are cyber trolls.

Ultimately these people in the real world wouldn't amount to anything more than just a toxic personality that contributes to the downward spiral of our society.

On the other hand, I don't understand the concept of posting your children's photo as your profile picture. Is it safer to post your child's picture than your own. For whatever reasons, I find it annoying and you fit into the category of cyber trolls.

Now the best thing to happen to FB is Farm Ville, Cafe World and all those other SIM like games. Without games like that, why would FB be anymore interesting than Craigslist? I have fallen prey to visiting farms and plowing crops to gain coins and xp points.

My sister asked me what is the point of FB? I couldn't answer her with just a simple answer. My answer would be you have to experience it for yourself. Create a profile, write something witty, make a few cyber friends, post a picture and when all is said and done. There is a simple solution to end the madness.

DELETE YOUR PROFILE.
